Step 1 Study Strategy

After scouring forums and blogs and talking to many friends who have written the USMLE, two general tips have emerged:

(1) First Aid is the center of the studiverse
(2) USMLEWorld Qbank is the center of the reviewniverse

SO, with that in mind, this is my study strategy for Step 1.

For each system / subject, I plan to:
(1) Read First Aid.
(2) "Fill in the gaps" with high-yield review resources (e.g. Rapid Review) and take notes in First Aid.  There is not quite enough white space for me in First Aid (I have big handwriting) so I am also using big Post-It notes to write extras on.
(3) Check my learning with multiple choice questions in review books (e.g. Robbins Pathology Review).

My goal is to have this finished by the end of September October.  (A month behind schedule already - whoo!)  Since I hope to write the USMLE in late December, this will give me about 8 weeks to review.

For review, I plan re-read First Aid with my notes in it, and to do as many USMLEWorld questions as humanly possible.

EDIT: WHAT ACTUALLY ENDED UP HAPPENING.

All throughout year 2, I read FA and USMLE secrets and did some annotating (especially from Rapid Review Pathology, Rapid Review Biochemistry, Lange Review of Microbiology & Immunology, & Lange Neuroanatomy) along with my coursework.  After my year 2 exams were over, I had 6 weeks to review.  During this time, I did the entire Kaplan Qbank and about half of UWorld.  I also did both the UWorld self assessment exams, and the full-length Kaplan simulated exam.
